Rekordbox Some Problem ..

Hello,

I have been DJing seriously for about 14 years now, and I’ve been using your products since the CDJ-100 era.

In recent years, I mainly played from USB drives, but since I now use several additional tools (DDJ-XP2 Pad, Audima Labs Sway, and other devices), I would like to switch to Rekordbox Performance Mode, primarily because of the STEMS feature.

However, there are several smaller issues that discourage me — and many other DJs I know — from using Rekordbox in Performance Mode (instead of Link/USB mode as before).

1) Folder navigation behavior

When using a Rekordbox-exported USB drive, folder navigation works perfectly:
you can browse folders and playlists, and when going back, the folder automatically collapses as expected.

However, in Performance Mode, the folders behave like a tree structure, and when navigating back, they do not collapse automatically — they must be closed manually.

This becomes very frustrating when browsing multiple folders, as it requires excessive scrolling with the rotary knob to find the desired playlist.

2) Font size adjustment

When using USB mode on devices like the XDJ-AZ or CDJ-3000, it is possible to adjust the display font size.

However, in Performance Mode, this option is not available, and all text appears very large.
Even though my eyesight is good, I find this quite distracting.

3) Waveform numbering on XDJ-AZ

With the latest update on the XDJ-AZ, it is great that 4 waveforms are displayed simultaneously.

However, the numbering appears as 3-1-2-4.
In Rekordbox, it is possible to change this to 1-2-3-4, but this change does not reflect on the XDJ-AZ display.

I understand this may be due to the channel fader layout, but for DJs used to mixers like the DJM-900NXS2 or A9, this layout is confusing.

It would be great if this could also be customizable on the device.

4) My Tag system limitations

In Rekordbox, the My Tag configuration allows 4 sections, each with up to 50 tags.

It would be very helpful if users could customize the number of sections.
Some DJs may only need one section, while others (like myself) would benefit from having many more (e.g. 10).

Currently, I separate them manually using placeholder tags like:
“--------------------------”

5) Bulk file renaming

It would be extremely useful if Rekordbox supported bulk file renaming, similar to software like Mp3tag.

A built-in feature like this would greatly improve workflow, especially for users with large libraries (I personally manage around 24,000 tracks).

6) Undo function

An Undo function would be very important.

There have been multiple cases where I selected tracks in a playlist, clicked into the metadata panel, and accidentally modified a field (e.g. artist or title).

In some cases, this affected thousands of tracks, and even after re-importing or refreshing tags, the metadata did not restore correctly.

General feedback

These are just a few points off the top of my head, but I truly believe many DJs would appreciate improvements to Performance Mode.

I personally know several DJs who switched to Serato or VirtualDJ because of these limitations.

For example, when using Performance Mode, I don’t even want to look at my laptop screen — I focus entirely on the DJ hardware.
It would even be useful if syncing the laptop UI with the hardware browsing could be optionally disabled.

I would really appreciate it if you could confirm that you have received and read this message.

Thank you very much for your time and support.

Best regards,
Piel Knox

Gabriel

Thank you for your feedback and requests.

I will forward it to the engineering team for future consideration.
