Hello,
I am not a DJ but like XDJ-R1 because it has CD players. It is very old school product.
Does Pioneer / Alphatheta still support older products firmware/software and also replacement parts? If not older people like me would enjoy CD as format as well.
Hi there,
I'm sorry to say that the XDJ-R1 is now an archived product, so it is no longer fully supported.
Hello Lewis,
I would mostly use XDJ-R1 without any software, only cd and usb applications. I see it as "cool old school gadget". For that reason if usb and cd functions would have difficulties I hope there would be a way to get spare parts. So do you know about spare parts availability? at least cd tray eject mechanism can in time break.
It seems that cd is completely forgotten as format, it required something extra to change cd's on fly. I would prefer to mix more manual way but in my country Finland if you'd order vinyl ep's from UK or US they would be very expensive because of light weight but large diameter. So 5 euros vinyl could add easily 30 euros as shipping cost. Also the music platforms beatport, beatsource and such they don't have older dance music from like 88 to 2003 so I have issues with it, only way to get my hobby to work would be a guarantee for parts for XDJ-R1 or to tell me where to buy ripped vinyl tracks from around 88 to 2003.
