DDJ-FLX10 Firmware Update Stuck at 0% / Solid Red Master Lights (Tried Mac, Win 10, and Win 11)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help with a firmware update issue on my DDJ-FLX10 that has essentially bricked the unit. It currently will not power on normally.

The Issue: I attempted a firmware update, but the progress bar is stuck at 0%. I can successfully put the unit into "Firmware Update Mode" (holding both 4 BEAT JUMP buttons on the left deck while powering on), and the Master Level Indicator flashes red as expected. However, the moment I hit "Start" in the updater, the lights on the FLX10 stop flashing and turn solid red (frozen), and the progress remains at 0%.

Troubleshooting already attempted:

  • Operating Systems: Tried on three different machines: macOS, Windows 10, and Windows 11.

  • Software: Tried both the standalone Firmware Updater .exe and the AlphaTheta Firmware Update Manager.

  • Security Settings: On Windows 11, I disabled "Memory Integrity" / "Core Isolation" and restarted the machine before attempting.

  • Hardware Setup:

    • Confirmed cable is in USB Port A.

    • Tried both USB-C to USB-C and USB-A to USB-C cables.

    • Plugged directly into the laptops (no hubs or adapters).

    • Ensured all other software (Rekordbox, etc.) was completely closed and background processes killed.

  • Power: Performed a hard power drain (unplugged AC and USB for 5+ minutes).

Current Status: The Firmware Update Manager recognizes that the FLX10 is connected, but the update simply will not initiate. I have tried multiple different USB ports on all three computers.

Is there a secondary "Force Reset" or a specific driver cleanup utility I should use to clear the handshake block? I am based in Vancouver and am trying to avoid a service center trip if there is a software-side fix I’ve missed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
