About V5 MULTI IO Signal route

I am the owner of the new V5 mixer, and I am very happy with the purchase for my Home Studio.

However, there is one design choice that I just don't understand. I assume there is no workaround for it, but just in case...

When you use an external unit through the Multi I/O—either via USB or the analog jacks—you have the option to send the signal from individual channels, or the master, to the unit. Once you activate the Multi I/O, it returns the signal through that same selected channel. Okay, fair enough. If you use a unit like the RMX Ignite as a master insert, everything goes through there in the end anyway.

But what is the point of returning the signal through one of the 3 channels—with their respective faders, gains, EQs, and filters—if you can't manipulate that signal before sending it to the master mix?

Whose idea was it to let you send the signal back, only for it to bypass everything and go straight to the fader?

For instance, if we use a DJS-1000—which obviously I don't want as the master of my audio signal, but rather treated as another performance unit that  sample and replaces the original signal—it is impossible to use its filter, its EQ, or its gain knob. It’s ridiculous... And it is almost certainly something tied to the circuitry design that cannot be fixed via firmware.

I checked the product manual and clearly the route is designed like it, if you route the return to a channel, the signal goes straight to the fader, bypassing all the channel gain knob,eq,.and filter. (Luckily send fx work 😂)

Seriously... think about it... what is the point? Best regards
