CDJ 3000 + A9 Mixer + Serato DJ Pro HID Mode Sound Drops

Hey,

I got a dream gig guest DJing for a cruise line and sadly, the sound has been dropping during my set. The equipment they have on board is CDJ 3000 and an A9 mixer. Their sound team connects my laptop to the A9 with a USB-C cable to the A9's USB slot A. Before each of my sets, I disable wifi, bluetooth, airdrop and no other applications are running save for Serato. On the CDJs I select the source-- Decks 1 and 2--and I start playing. About an hour into the set the sound just stops. My computer is still running Serato. I can still see the track that I am playing visually on my laptop. However, when I look at the CDJs, I no longer see my library or folder I was in; instead I see Rekordbox. I've been restarting my computer and everything works again temporarily, but the audience hightails it outta there, which is understandable. Sadly, no one on their team can troubleshoot, and I don't even know where to begin as I don't have this equipment at home. I don't think I'll be invited back, which is a bummer. I'm prepping flash drives now to try to salvage some of my credibility. But maybe someone here can help... I would like to know what is going on for future reference.

I'm sure you've tried this already, but I use this exact same setup with 3000s and A9 in HID mode with Serato DJ Pro flawlessly. Quality USB cables are essential. Which kind are you using. Which Operating system is your laptop and which version of Serato DJ Pro are you using. Finally, what firmware are the CDJ's and A9 on?
