CDJ3000X Compatibility with Older Libraries
Hello,
I run a professional DJ rental business, and over the last few months I've noticed a growing compatibility issue that I think deserves more attention.
Many DJs are still using older versions of Rekordbox and have not yet migrated to the new OneLibrary workflow. As a result, when they arrive at an event with their USB drives, the newer CDJ-3000X players sometimes cannot properly recognize or display their exported playlists. From the DJ's perspective, it looks like the CDJs are malfunctioning, when in reality the issue is related to library compatibility.
This creates a difficult situation for rental companies. We provide brand-new, fully updated equipment, but we are often blamed for compatibility problems caused by differences in Rekordbox versions and export methods. Most DJs simply expect every USB to work on every player, regardless of how it was prepared.
I would like to ask AlphaTheta whether there are any plans to improve backward compatibility, or at least provide clearer guidance and warnings for users. Better communication inside Rekordbox before exporting, or improved compatibility with older library formats, would help prevent a lot of confusion at events.
Thank you.
