Looking for some advice on a strange DDJ-1000 power issue.

 

I have used the same DDJ-1000 with the same laptop at the same venue for around two years without any problems whatsoever.

 

Last Thursday I had the DDJ-1000 set up at home, powered on and working perfectly. I selected and prepared my music, shut everything down and packed it away as normal.

 

On Friday I set up at the venue and the DDJ-1000 simply would not power up. Nothing. No lights and no sign of life.

 

We tried different power sockets at the venue. Other equipment worked perfectly from every socket we tested, so it does not appear to have been a venue power issue.

 

In the end I had no choice but to play directly from the laptop.

 

Here is the strange part.

 

The following morning I got home, plugged the DDJ-1000 into the mains and switched it on. It powered up immediately as if absolutely nothing had happened.

 

I have also powered it on again since and it is working normally.

 

So I am a bit lost as to where the problem actually sits.

 

Has anyone experienced something similar with a DDJ-1000?

 

Could the external power supply/transformer or cable become temperamental or intermittently fail, despite working normally again afterwards? I have already ordered a brand-new replacement power supply as a precaution.

 

Could there instead be an intermittent issue inside the DDJ-1000 itself, perhaps around the power input or power circuitry?

 

My instinct is leaning towards the power supply rather than the controller because the DDJ-1000 came straight back to life the following morning and has worked normally since, but obviously that does not prove anything.

 

Any experiences or technical insight would be very much appreciated. I would rather identify the likely cause now than discover the problem again five minutes before another gig.
