cannot export playlist to usb

Warm vybz all.  I have bought a new usb, formatted it once to MSDOS (FAT ) and once to FAT32.  On both occassions, I have been unable to export a playlist from Rekordbox 7 to my USB.  I am using a Macbook.  I have tried both methods sync manager and right clicking on the playlist, then export to device.  WHen I use sync manager, I do get  a message saying that one or more files could not be exported.  There is a log with onfo about the files that have not exported.  The playlist is also showing as being on my device.  However, when I go to the actual device.  There is a pioneer folder, which when opened, only contains information in folders like extracted and one other.  However, no actual music files.  Any ideas peeps?
