patterns copying issues

i've just bought a chordcat and i have a problem when i copy patterns:

i start with pattern 1 with just one sound, i copy it onto pattern 2 and add a second sound, i copy pattern 2 onto pattern 3 and add a third sound but all the 3 patterns become with 3 sounds. i can't solve this problem
