XDJ-AZ V1.30 Screen lag
Has anyone else noticed really poor waveform performance on the AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ after updating the firmware from 1.24 to 1.30?
Since updating, the on-screen waveforms are noticeably laggy and jittery, even when I'm only using 2-deck mode. I can't imagine how bad it would be running all 4 decks.
I've done some research and seen suggestions to disable network/Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but neither of these has ever been enabled on my unit, so that doesn't appear to be the cause.
To be fair, the waveform performance wasn't perfect on firmware 1.24 either, but 1.30 seems considerably worse.
A few questions for other XDJ-AZ owners:
-
Has anyone else experienced worse waveform lag/jitter on firmware 1.30?
-
Is this looking like a firmware bug?
-
Is there any known fix or workaround?
-
Can the XDJ-AZ safely be rolled back from 1.30 to 1.24?
It's particularly frustrating considering the processing hardware in the XDJ-AZ should be more than capable of displaying smooth waveforms. It does make me wonder whether this is simply poor firmware optimisation, or whether there's some other limitation at play.

They simply need to increase the artificial software rendering cap from 30 FPS to 60 FPS.
FYI.. CDJ-3000 runs at 60 FPS.
In other words, they know what needs to be done and are well capable of doing it. 😂
Thankfully the system lets me roll the firmware back to 1.24 and now the issues are resolved. I also found media glitches every few seconds on version 1.30 usinkg serato
I believe you will lose the four stacked waveform view along with the option to update over the WiFi.
