Feature Request – New Features for Live DJ Performance
Dear rekordbox Development Team,
I am a DJ and a regular rekordbox user, and I would like to suggest three new features that could significantly improve rekordbox for live DJ performances.
1. “Stop All Samples” Button
In the Sample section, please consider adding a dedicated “Stop All Samples” button.
During a live performance, DJs often trigger several samples or loops simultaneously to create a rhythm or musical layer. Currently, if several samples are playing at the same time, they have to be stopped individually.
A single Stop All Samples button would allow the DJ to immediately stop all currently playing samples and loops with one action.
This would make live performance faster, easier and much more practical.
2. Cross-Deck Sample Sync
On controllers such as the DDJ-GRV6, each deck has its own Sample section.
I would like to suggest adding a SYNC option for samples between decks.
For example:
- A song is playing on Deck 1.
- A loop/sample is triggered from the Sample section associated with Deck 2.
- By activating SYNC, that sample should automatically synchronize with the BPM and beat/grid of the song playing on Deck 1.
- The same functionality should work between Decks 1, 2, 3 and 4.
This would allow DJs to use samples from any deck while keeping them perfectly synchronized with the currently playing track.
3. Advanced ACT Automation / Event Trigger System
This is the feature I believe could provide especially powerful possibilities for live performance.
Currently, the ACT function on each deck provides a limited number of actions such as REV, ECHO and VINYL between selected points.
I would like to suggest expanding ACT into a more advanced Event Trigger / Automation system, where the DJ can assign almost any available rekordbox function to a specific point or section of a track.
For example, when a track on Deck 1 reaches a predefined ACT point:
- Turn an effect on or off.
- Trigger or stop a sample or loop.
- Play or stop Deck 2, 3 or 4.
- Turn STEMS on or off.
- Activate or deactivate a specific STEM.
- Control functions belonging to another deck.
- Trigger multiple actions simultaneously.
- Create several different automated actions at different points of the same track.
For example:
Deck 1 reaches ACT Point 1 → Start a sample on Deck 2.
Deck 1 reaches ACT Point 2 → Turn the vocal STEM off.
Deck 1 reaches ACT Point 3 → Stop the sample and activate an effect.
This would allow a DJ to prepare a complete live performance in advance and have specific effects, samples, STEMS and deck functions triggered exactly at the desired musical moments.
Ideally, ACT could provide a selectable list of available rekordbox functions, allowing the DJ to decide exactly what happens at each programmed point rather than being limited to a small number of predefined actions.
I believe these features could give DJs much greater control during live performances and make rekordbox more powerful for creative, precise and professional DJ sets.
Thank you for considering these suggestions. I hope they can be considered for a future version of rekordbox.
Best regards,
Vahid

I hope the rekordbox development team can consider these feature requests for a future update. These features would be especially useful for DJs performing live, particularly with the DDJ-GRV6.
Thank you for considering the suggestions.
I hope the rekordbox development team can consider these feature requests for a future update.
These features would be useful for DJs in general, especially for live performances. They could provide much greater control over samples, effects, STEMS, deck functions and live performance automation.
Although I mentioned the DDJ-GRV6 as an example, these ideas are intended to be useful across rekordbox-compatible DJ systems and controllers.
Thank you for considering these suggestions.
Thank you for your feedback and requests.
Your requests were forwarded to the engineering team for future consideration.
However we cannot guarantee when or if they would implement them.
