XDJ-RX3 USB ports stopped detecting drives after 2 weeks (motherboard failure)

Hi everyone,

I bought a new XDJ-RX3 and it worked perfectly for about two weeks. Then both USB ports stopped detecting drives. The unit has been handled carefully, never dropped or exposed to liquids.

What I’ve tried:

  • Different USB drives, formatted correctly (FAT32/exFAT)
  • Restarting and power cycling the unit
  • Factory Reset

A technician diagnosed it as a motherboard failure and quoted $350 for parts and repair.

A few questions:

  1. Has anyone else had this issue with the RX3? Is it a known defect?
  2. Is there a firmware fix or anything else I can try before paying for the repair?
  3. @Pioneer DJ / AlphaTheta: is this covered under warranty, and what’s the best way to start a claim? The unit was purchased on Amazon.

Details:

  • Firmware version: v 1.16
  • Purchase date: November 4th, 2026
  • Location: Miami/Honduras

Any help is appreciated. I’d also like to put this on the brand’s radar in case other users run into the same problem.

I want to stress how serious this situation is for me. I live in Honduras, and shipping the unit back to the United States for service would be very costly in both time and money. I have several gigs scheduled in the coming weeks, and DJing is my main source of income, so being without my equipment has already caused me real financial difficulties. I’m extremely frustrated that a brand-new, professional-grade unit failed after only two weeks of careful use. I’d appreciate an urgent solution that doesn’t require me to send the unit abroad, such as covering a local repair, an authorized service option in Honduras, or a replacement shipped to me.
