DJM250 Hiss

Help! I have recently purchased a DJM250. I am running it through 2 Active Yamaha DSR115s and an active DSR118W. I am using the MASTER1 Balanced XLRS for output from the DJM250. When the mixing desk is turned off and the speakers are on and the voulme knobs are rotated full there is barely a hiss from the speakers. When i turn the DJM250 on (after turning down the speakers a bit, of course) there is a loud hissing sound coming through the speakers from the mixing desk. Even with the Volume Knob, Channel Faders, Trim Controls set to 0 and Mic/Aux section switched to"off", the hissing still continues. I have tried changing leads/different sockets/disconnecting each player etc etc, but the hissing still remians. I have connected the DJM250 to my home system, (Pioneer Amp and Mission speakers) through the Master2 RCA's and again when i turn it on i get a loud hissing sound through the speakers. Am i missing something???? Any help or thoughts would be great thanks.

Is it noticeable when there is music playing?

Brett

Hey, no, it,s not noticeable when i am playing music, but when you turn off the music it is very noticeable. Cheers!

Likely within the normal tolerances of the unit, especially if it's not audible during audio playback.

Thanks for the info! I would agree with you there. Might look at getting a dearer mixer (and will try it out with the speakers before i buy this time!) Thanks again.

Just to piggy back off of this post, I too have this unit and have only used the RCA outs ever. Recently, I purchased a mackie SRM 150 100watt monitor and was planning on using the Mackie as a monitor through the XLR outs. As soon as the mixer is turned on a LOUD hissing comes out of the Monitor, and its even loud at just 20% volume. With music playing, IT IS noticeable to me in the booth and defeats the purpose of having a monitor. This DOES NOT happen with a RCA to 1/4 cable to the monitor, only through the XLR output. Am I doing something wrong? To illustrate, I've included a file.
