DJM-450 seems to be connected but I can't select DJM-450 ASIO

I can connect my DJM-450 to my laptop which is an ASUS UX330U via Rekordbox 6, I've installed the latest driver, checked the firmware, etc., but every time I try to connect the DJM-450 AISO in my audio preferences I get an error message that says "Error while opening"
Ive tried uninstalling the driver, restarting my laptop, just as the previous forum thread suggested, and still I get the error. I've tried this order of operations 3 times without success. I'm not sure what else I can do to resolve this issue.

The instructions here are for a DDJ, but apply to DJMs as well - please give it a try.
