SP-16 Switching Patterns

After I record my first pattern I want to start a second.  I hit the "pattern" button and then select the second step button.  In the window I see it's now changed to pattern 2.  But as soon as I try to record (or hit play) it switches back to pattern 1, no matter what I do.  Arghh!  Nothing in the instruction manual about this, it just won't let me create a second pattern.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Hit the pattern button twice.

Mookie Tashmoo

Um...nope.  At what point do I hit it twice?  Doesn't seem to work.  Pattern button only toggles on/off

I hit pattern button, then double tap the new pattern I want to create and it switches to the new, blank one. I am not in front of the machine right now but I believe that's how it works.

Doesn't work either.  I see the pattern change in the window when I double-tap but as soon as I hit play or record it goes back to pattern 1.  Crazy!

Hmmm. Maybe you have to be in play or record mode first? You can copy/paste pattern to a new one if needed. I will do that in general. Create a template pattern and then copy/paste that to all 16 patterns in the scene.

Aha!  Solved.  With the Arrangement button on it always goes back to the first pattern.

Midnight Music Club

Ah. That makes sense. Glad you figured it out.
