1 CDJ 2000 Backlight LCD blinks

I have a pair of CDJs from the first batch because my box was red and white and the newer ones come in red and black boxes. My units are running from a voltage controlled UPS to avoid and power fluctuations and disruptions. Ihave a problem in one of the units since day 1. The problem inintially wwas, when I switched it on, the backlight LCD was blinking intermittently. I upgraeded the FW but the problem did not completly go away. When evr there is bass, the faulty cdj has slight blinking backligh and the other one runs fine. This does not happen from vibration as I have tested it from a vibration free enviroment.

My other cdj also developed a small problem during a live gig couple of days back. It kept ejecting the CDs for no reason. It cost me $150 to get that unit serviced and now I am afraid this blinking unit might go kaput. I have had Pioneer units from CMX 3000 to 1000MK3 without the slightest troubles for years but my CDJ 2000s are a year and a half old and already I have faced these problems. Any suggestions?  Does my blinking unit risk going out permanently? I do not hevae expert pioneer service centres nearby so that also is a small problem, the last eject problem was luckily solved by an electrician suggested by the store from where I had got them

Bottom line- I am not happy at pioneer because I love these players more than anything but the sheer price compared to reliability is appaling and I would appricite it if pulse would not compare my problem and say it is not common. I am facing this problem and it is costing me so to me-IT IS A BIG COSTLY PROBLEM.

Effect

I would have rejected the unit, when it was under warrantee

It's hard to see what the issue is here. You have a fault but you chose not to take it back and now your warranty has run out. You've been unlucky to experience your first hardware fault in many years and now suddenly 'reliability is appalling' WTF?

Thank u both for the reply...
@ effect-there is no pioneer official dealer in my country so i had the units imported.secondly,i read from previous pioneer forum where other users here like birchi experienced this problem and it was overcome by a fw update,my backlight flicker situation improved but did not completly go away.
@ phil- I said reliability of the 2000 model compared to the players i previously owned for longer periods so I think my point is valid

Pulse

@Sid > I wouldn't say that the CDJ build quality is any lower than any other Pioneer product; there have been small faults or flaws with design or manufacturing but overall they are very reliable (moreso than any other brand; just ask any repair shop).  If you had problems right out of the box, you should have addressed them at that time, regardless of your proximity to your retailer or Pioneer official support.  If you're out of warranty, you will very likely have to pay for the repairs.  Will the flicker go away or will the display fail completely?  I can't say for certain, sorry.

Thx for the reply pulse, its just that i had such trouble free experience before so I expected the 2000 to be flawless considering the amount of money we shelled out for them,i have my fingers crossed

Phil

Even ferrari's break down every now and then. I had problems with 2 cdj1000s and my 2000s were fault free. Go figure!
