XDJ RX Rekordbox pro link not loading
Hello,
I have a windows 8.1, XDJ-RX, Rekordbox 4.2.2 and I can connect via prolink. i see the activity of teh decks on my computer (RBox) when I play songs from USB sticks. But I can't drop songs from RBox to the XDJ. When I do that I get E8305.
I can browse my RBox library from the XDJ, but when I load I get E8306, no file...
If I put these songs on a usb sticks it works well...
Actually it worked teh first time I hooked up everything. The next day and after it stopped...
I tried lots of things, no antivirus, no wifi... nothing work... but I do see the activity of teh decks on RBox when I play from usb thumbs drives..., this is frustrating.
Hope soneone can help me.
Wishing you a good day,
Thibault

I have a PC Windows 10, XDJ-RX with 2.10 firmware and Rekordbox 4.2.3 (64bit). When I browse my RBox library from the linked XDJ and load a song, then sometimes I also get a E8306 message, but other times it's loaded and I can play it. However I don't see the small and big soundwaves, but I do see the hot/memory cue points. When I press the 'quantize' button, I see the following message.
"rekordbox track analysis required for QUANTIZE feature."
But track is already analysed in Rekordbox. Also the drag&drop feature in Rekordbox doesn't load the track via link.
Now I tried the same on a Surface Pro 4 (wireless) and now I see both the small and big soundwaves! I'm albe to use quantize and also the drag&drop feature from Rekordbox! Same OS, same version of Rekordbox, same home network, but it just works! I'm happy the expensive XDJ-RX isn't broken. It must be something with my PC, but I cannot pinpoint yet the root of this problem. PC has been reinstalled quite recently. Any suggestions?
I don't think it's your computer.. It's weird, for me it worked well the first day then no more...
I tried without antivirus and without wifi or internet without success... :(
Mr Pioneer, any info?
Yes, I manage to play songs from RBox library on my PC! The one thing different with the Surface Pro 4 is that on my PC I am using an USB stick and I moved my collection to that stick. On the Surface Pro I just added some tracks in the 'internal' collection and that worked. So I did the same on my PC and viola, I'm able to use the drag&drop feature in Rekordbox and I also see both soundwaves! Unfortunately this configuration doesn't work for me because I also want to work with Rekordbox from other locations/hardware and I need to take my library.
So Thibault, this would explain that it worked the first time, but stop working as soon as you moved the collection to an USB stick. But did you?
Hi David,
No, actually when I put some (less than 200) tracks on a usb stick it works. It's really when I connect to my computer. I see I'm connected I see the activity when I play from USB but I can't drag and drop tracks from my pc running rekordbox... Just saw that the 4.2.4 is there.. it is installing...
I also had some track without the sound wave plot. You just need to quantize them on rekordbox and then you'll get it.
Cheers
Hello,
Good news! With RB 4.2.4 it works... or at least tonight it works.
I have only been using it with turntables for the last 2 weeks. Now checking this post I tried this new release and COOL :) it seems to work as intended.
Happy weekend !
Hi, good for you it works the way you want it with 4.2.4! In the release notes of version 4.2.3 the Pro DJ Link and XDJ-RX are mentioned under [FIXED]. Unfortunately in my case, these fixes don't make any difference. I still don't see soundwaves for all tracks from the USB that contains the Master Database (see "Advanced -> Database" in the preferences). If I use my C-drive again as the Master Database, then I do see soundwaves for all tracks! What exactly do you mean by quantizing tracks on Rekordbox??
@David > If you're using an external database, did you move something and that's why the waveforms aren't showing ... they're missing?
No I didn't move anything. Actually all tracks are on the same USB stick as the Master Database. So on the XDJ-RX I can play all tracks from Rekordbox (via the Pro DJ Link) and I see the hot/memory cues, but I just don't see any waveforms and quantize is unavailable. I thinks Rekordbox is not able to provide the analyzed data if the Master Database is on a USB stick.
Hello,
I meant by quantizing, doing an analysis. Without that waveform are not available.
I guess that when you put it on your USB, that info is missing.
Hope you find a solution soon.
Well, all track are analyzed. Also the ones on the USB, because I see them in Rekordbox iteself. My best guess it's not missing on the USB, but not provided to the XDJ-RX when linked.
Hold on, the external USB is the SOURCE? If you haven't re-exported to that drive as well, it won't be available.
You mean with "SOURCE" the location of all my tracks? Most of them are on my C-drive and some are on my USB stick. But all the tracks in my Master Collection are (re-)exported to my USB stick. It really doesn't make any difference, I still don't see the waveforms to be displayed on the XDJ-RX via Pro DJ Link. Still I'm able to play them and I see the hot/memory cues, but just no analyzed data for the soundwaves. Please try to reproduce and inform the programmers of RekordBox.
I am having issues with 4.2.4 and my XDJ-RX. The itunes will not load and I cannot play from Rekordbox when I press the button. I can only use it with USBs and with Midi. Any suggestions?
Thanks
@Benjamin > You may need to adjust your firewall settings to allow acces to rekordbox and the ethernet port.
Thanks it worked :)
Your a star...
I've just updated to RekordBox 4.3.0 and now I'm able to play tracks AND see the anaylzed data (soundwaves) on the XDJ-RX via Pro DJ Link!
Thanks! :)
@David > Glad to hear it's working for you.
Well, not only for me, because the release notes of 4.3.0 says this is fixed:
(Source: https://www.pioneerdj.com/en-us/news/2017/rekordbox-update-ver-430/)
In my case I moved the database on an USB stick which is basically the same as moving to an external HDD.
One thing which still doesn't work (not so annoying thow) when the XDJ-RX is linked via Pro DJ Link, it's still not possible to drag&drop a track to one of the (virtual) decks in Rekordbox. This should in fact load it on the concurrent deck on the XDJ-RX itself.
@David > I'm not sure I understand -- where are you trying to drag/drop from/to? Where are the music files located?
