SP-16 Critical Show stopping issue in latest firmware

I got the sp16 about a month ago and noticed that when i have about 8-10 scenes filled within a project, recording triggers from the pads no longer records properly and random triggers get recorded with their lengths set to 64 when i did not hold the pad down for more than what would be length of 1 or 1.5. The resulting sound is like having the sustain pedal held while triggering the pads and it ruins the song. This is totally unacceptable and makes the machine unusable past half the stated scene limit unless i sequence everything from the step sequencer

Hi Anthony, I am sorry you're experiencing this behavior from your SP-16 and I thank you for the demonstration video.

I've replicated this scenario and yes, there is indeed an issue with the unit arbitrarily assigning a note length of 64 to certain steps when manually entering in notes from the pads onto a MIDI track.  Unfortunately, it is not possible to downgrade - I have conveyed this to the engineers as a bug.  Let me get right back to you and let you know if there is anything more I can do.

Hey Anthony,

Sorry to hear that -- could you please record a video showing the issue so we can determine if you're simply running out of memory or if there is another issue? Also, please let us know which firmware is installed on the SP-16. Thanks.

Firmware 1.60
This happens regardless of midi track settings and only when at least 6 scenes are designed. Quantize is turned off in the video

Is it possible to downgrade? I'm really needing this to be resolved and thinking maybe an older firmware might not have this issue

Anthony Baccari

Thanks for getting back to me. I have one other question, I've noticed that copying and pasting patterns or scenes doesn't work while the sequencer is running. Is this by design?

Pulse

Probably not possible due to memory limitations.

Still dealing with this, it sucks. I spent a lot of money on the sp16 purchased brand new only 3 months ago and have to completely redo how my set takes place because this device doesn't do what the manual and marketing materials say it does. Someone told me i should have got the squid to make sequences but how can i trust the squid actually does what pioneer says it does? No one on these forums seems to be actually using these machines to their full stated ability anyways. Very frustrating, guys

Anthony, please file an inquiry ticket here, it may seem rekordbox-oriented, but just provide detail and a link to this forum topic, and our support team can assist you further with this issue. Thanks.
