Losing confidence in 2000's rapidly
HI
Im seriously thinking of selling my 2000's after yet another horror show last.
Il start from the beginning the week before:
Both 2000's are latest firmware and were set up in the club and were connected to each other directly using the lag cable that came with the product. I was playing off a 32GB Corsair Survivor USB stick with about 20gb of analysed tracks on there. Half way through my set the link on the 2nd 2000 just died while the mix was about to come in. I was left with about 50 seconds to grab a cd load a track and mix it in before the tracks on deck 1 finished. luckily i managed to do it without anyone noticing but thats not the point.
Last night i took my decks back to the club but this time I connected both deck to my 500gb Apple wireless base station which was also connected to Rekordbox on my macbook pro. The connections were all through cables (not wireless). Half way through my set again last night deck 1 decided to lose the link connection and was unresponsive, I got an error message E-3802 i think and the deck took ages to start working again. Its a good job the 1000's were also set up on the other 2 channels because if they weren't then this would surely have been a disaster.
I seriously thinking of just going back to cd's until these are far more stable. These decks could be great but at this moment in time are not.

Hi Costa
Check your USB ports at the back of CDJ Player. Maybe its broken and the wire doesn't connect properly.
I think you should carry also another USB stick and have it in 2nd player as backup..
or maybe don't use Link and play both players in seperate USB stick.
Take care
Dimitris
Yeah buying another usb would solve my issues, the ports at the back don't look broken.
The link breaks half way through a gig and you can only reconnect it by turning the deck off and on again.
Cheers
Costa don't use the lan cable wich was included to the cdj2000, it's crap. Use other lan cable's with a metal plug, they got a special name, can't remember right now.
Cheers Tasos, if you remember the name of the cable could you let me know and il get them
If you go in a store and ask for that, they will know. It's like that http://www.pixmania.gr/gr/gr/46000066/art/hama/cable-patch-cat5-rj45-ham.html?srcid=7255&Partenaire=skroutz&CodePromo=oui&aftrack=TVRRMU96VXlNRGs7MTMxODE2MjUwNzs or that http://www.stavrianos-dw.gr/product_info.php?products_id=9707
rj45 cable with metall connector. It's a fixed cable and it will never disconnect you, exept the cdj lan slot is damaged. Djm2000 got 4 of this kind cables in package and i use them. Never got disconnect problems after that.
@Costa > I was going to suggest the same thing as @tasos; trying a different cable. It's likely that one cable has wiggled loose and has thus caused a drop in the connection.
Cheers Pulse, yeah I'm looking at better quality cables.
