Using DVS to control CDJs
Hi, I'm a newbie to all this (despite being a vinyl DJ playing techno / electro etc for 25 years) so please be kind to my probably stupid suggestion / question ;-) I'm looking to expand my setup to enable me to play digital files more easily, and considering a DVS control vinyl system because obviously I have considerable experience already with the physical interface! However, I would also like to not have to lug a laptop to gigs with me (along with my records, which I will still be playing).
So...question is...is there any way to use DVS to control USB sticks plugged into Pioneer CDJs / Nexus / whatever? Strikes me that if the files were all set up in Recordbox, this shouldn't be so difficult to achieve - especially as newer CDJs can output DVS themselves.
Any thoughts?

Unfortunately not, and while I have seen some tinkerers create Raspberry Pi-based systems that can do such a behaviour, our CDJs are simply not designed in such a way as to act as a media host, accepting external control input to process and manipulate the audio for output. As the demand for such systems is relatively low, I don't see this as being something our teams would produce for the mass-market. Sorry!
Haha 'tinkerers'...I like that :-) Weird thing is, your CDJs already *are* media hosts, they 'host' the files on a USB stick or CD...but yeah, I do realise this was a slightly odd request. I might see if I can get my tinkering nerd mates to come up with a hack ;-)
