DJM 700 - Recording with Audacity

I have a problem with my settings for recording with Audacity. I have linked the DJM 700 to my iMac and I am running Audacity. There is sound coming into the iMac but the peaks of the waveform seem ridiculously high and turning the master gain down on my mixer has no effect.

I had my DJM 707 before and it was no problem at all with recording.

Please could you advice me. Thank you in advance.

Best, Bart

Could you please help me???

Pulse

If you are using the REC output, that sends the audio pre-master volume, meaning the channels would be where you cut back the audio level.

The Mac's audio input accepts up to 2.8V of signal and the nominal REC output signal is much less than that.

You can also adjust the recording audio levels within the system sound config.

Thank you so much for your help Pulse. Most of London's djshops said that I'm not able to record straight on my iMac - losers!!! They try to sell me external recorders.

Pulse

lol- no worries.  Did you get it sorted out?

Bart Wolf

Yes, I did. I changed setting in Audio Midi Setup. Thanks
