Beating a Dead Horse
Hello Pioneer and Community,
Below is a full read, if you have no patience here is the scoop.
I have the DJM-s9 with the 1000s, I want to buy the DDJ-?B but want to move to Rekordbox DJ. I just need a hint or some sort of "UNOFFICIAL" way of someone telling me, S9 will officially work with it soon or later. Private me if you can, and I promise you I will not leak any OPSEC! Just need security! thanks.
Returning DJ here. After so many many years of absence, I would just like to introduce myself as a Pioneer veteran. I am one of the first users of the CDJ-1000 when it first came out. Man, it was an amazing device. Still have some great memories. FWD to today, I'm back using the PLX 1000s and the DJM-s9. Wow, I wish I could brush my skills off to the level of how these babies look! It is beautiful! Well done Pioneer, you guys are the Apple of DJs.
I am strongly, and very interested in using the Rekordbox DJ. I believe Rekordbox is gonna steal the Serato and Traktor fans away in about 5-7 years from now if the movement is strong. I am up in the air on buying a DDJ-?B. What makes me up in the air? Well, I want the controller to use for studying, testing and experiment on the go. I am in the Military and when I'm out on missions, music takes me away.
I need some help and advice. I don't have people I can go to. Let me get to the point. DJM-S9 is a superb product for me. I love how simple it is but so plentiful. I will move to rekordbox in a heartbeat, but I need some type of assurance that I'm making the right move by taking advantage of buying a DDJ-RB, get that free licence and move those TTs to the rekordbox side without having to use both softwares. Sure I can stay Serato, but I want to look at 5-7 years from now knowing I made the right choice. What attracks me is the "Standard". I visualize Pioneer taking it all! I'm sure they will. Rekordbox DJ that makes me attracted is that I don't need to plug hardware to open it up fully! If all I have is my Macbook pro, I can still do homework and still mix live for my own pleasure. Controller if it fits in seabag.
Any feedback, help would be advised as I will be buying a controller this week because I'm out on for the mission very shortly.
Sincerely a fan of this Company.

Well, how about I tell you it works with it now? Just not ... fully. ;)
I know, everyone wants the S9 to work with rekordbox natively the same way the controllers do, and if you look at our controller line, the S-series units all work with rekordbox, with the exception of the newest; the SZ2. This is because these units were designed / created in partnership with Serato, and as such, we have an obligation to integrate with Serato DJ exclusively for a certain period of time. There is a good chance it will become available under rekordbox, but I can't say if/when that will be.
Thanks for the reply Pulse. I appreciate the input. I figured S9'ers are getting antsy about this working on Rekordbox natively. Thats a great thing for Pio. Worse comes to worse, I sell the S9 and purchase something simular for my 1000s to work on rekordbox DJ.
I appreciate it and I believe I will go ahead and purchase the RB. Nice little thing to do homework on.
Thanks again!
Cheers
I know it -- it's great to see that so many DJs love the S9 but want to use it with rekordbox, that speaks volumes for our software! :)
