Streaming with OBS + DJM-750Mk2 (Mac)

I'm trying to configure/route audio from my DJM-750Mk2 to OBS (for live broadcast). None of the instructions I've found have worked. The instructions titled Streaming with OBS+DJM-900NXS2 (Mac)   look like they might work, but SoundFlower is no longer supported (won't install on my machine) and the link to download JACK is invalid. Are there more up-to-date instructions and/or something specific for my device?

  • DJM-750Mk2 (v1.04)
  • Mac OS Catalina (10.15.3) w/current DJM-750Mk2 driver (2.1.0)
  • rekordbox 5.8.5
  • OBS 24.0.6 (64 bit)

If you're not using rekordbox, and just playing from hardware, you don't need any of that to stream. If you are wanting to use software, you can skip a lot of that and just assign the REC-OUT to channel 1 in the setting utility, then select the DJM-750MK2 as your input within OBS.

David Bromberg

YES!!! Setting REC-OUT to Channel 1 was all I needed to do. Now I'm able to play how I'm used to: either from USB or linked to rekordbox in Export mode (so that the XDJs read my collection). Thank you for the quick reply.

Hello,

I Did set the REC OUT to CHANNEL 1 CONTROL TONE PHONO in rekordbox settings but still no signal in OBS..

Anything else im missing ?

THANK YOU

David Bromberg

So, the REC OUT setting needs to be done in the Setting Utility and not rekordbox.

Here's what my rekordbox settings look like:

And here's what my Settings Utility looks like (you access this by clicking on the "Setting Utility" button seen in the rekordbox settings under Input Channels):

The default setting for USB1/2 is "CH1 Control Tone LINE". Changing USB1/2 to "REC OUT" is what made the difference for me.

Pulse

Correct.

It's a long process for me to go through and update all the guides and revise many for stand-alone configuration (they're mostly set-up for if you're using rekordbox), so there are a few differences.

David Bromberg

I can only imagine how much work it is to keep everything updated.

You've been Johnny-on-the-Spot with the replies though! I've already had one test stream already and the audio was perfect. Thanks again!

Trying to stay on top of the increased traffic (especially on the topic of streaming with everyone at home and wanting to broadcast!), so thanks for your patience. :)

I hate to necro an old post, but I have new machine, same issue. I have a new M1 Mac mini (Big Sur) and it's not seeing the REC OUT at all. Neither OBS nor rekordbox see my DJM-750MK2.

I have the latest firmware on the mixer (1.04) and the latest driver (3.0.0)

Please help!

@David > Did you follow the steps here for M1-specific installation?

Have you allowed rekordbox and/or OBS access to the mic in your System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy for audio input?
