This is the way CDJs behave and this performance function was brought forward. It has been suggested that an option be included for those who are more comfortable with the Serato method (where it depends if the deck is playing or not as to whether the playback continues after you release the hot cue button).

If you are referring to HOT CUES, I understand your issue on this one.

1) Press HOT CUE
2) Press Play/Pause
3) Press CUE. If cue point does not land on your HOT CUE point then use your platter to adjust the cue point.

I do think that while a song is not actively playing, the HOT CUE should not be playing back automatically, and vice versa. But at this time, that is not the case. It will play no matter what.

Thanks but without playing a track, I want to play Cues only when I press the pad and hold. I want the Cue to stop playing when I depress the Cue Pad.

Right now it continues to play without stopping

Tu Tran is correct. So long as the track is not actively playing in the deck, the hot cue buttons act as one-shots. Make sure you're utilizing Hot Cues and not stand Cues/Memory Cues as there is a significant difference. You can also create a temporary one-shot style action by using the orange illuminated cue button. Simply move the playhead to the position and press the orange Cue button. Now each time you press it, it will perform a one-shot. Once you move the track, however, that temporary cue is lost. Cheers.

The same problem I have!

I actually have to correct my answer, I forgot the Hot Cue behavior I was describing is what occurs when using Traktor with Pioneer via HID. Apologies for the confusion.
