CDJ2000 - Disconnect From Rekordbox Performance Mode

Hi, I use a pair of CDJ2000s and Rekordbox Dj in performance mode. When another Dj takes over from me, he uses just USB sticks, so I need to disconnect the players from Rekordbox in order for him to use them with USBs. Problem is I cant figure out how to do this without power cycling them.

I have tried pressing the blue link button (on the CDJ), then the back button a few times, but nothing happens. If i press the USB button (on the CDJ), browse to a track then try and load the track, nothing happens. No error messages, nothing.

THere are also times when I would like to play a track from USB during my set, and at the moment I have to power down a CDJ, then use it to play the USB track, then reconnect to rekordbox to carry on. SUrely there must be a way to disconnect the link to Rekordbox without power cycling?

I figured it out -- you have the LOAD LOCK switch set to LOCK. For whatever reason, when you try to load a track from USB if connected to HID, it doesn't warn you, nor does it load the track even if playback is stopped. But if you toggle it to UNLOCK, you can load a track from USB.

I'll pass this to the engineers - not sure if it affects other models, or if they'll update it, but at least we know the work-around.

To disconnect from HID, all the next DJ needs to do is press the USB button and load a track. The player should indicate that the deck is currently connected in MIDI mode and loading a track will disconnect it.

Do you possibly have an old firmware on the players?

I have tried that but when you press the select wheel to load the track from USB nothing happens. No message on the player or in Rekordbox. Both players running 4.33 firmware.

That's awesome, thanks for looking into it

CDJ-2000NXS/NXS2 warns with a message saying it's playing from PC, so I'm thinking this was just an alert not included in the firmware due to the generation of the player (created before performance mode).
