rekordbox dj linked with CDJ-2000 (not nexus) - does BEAT SYNC work?

I'm thinking about switching from Traktor to Rekordbox DJ, but I was wondering if BEAT SYNC works also if I link the software to two CDJ-2000 (not nexus) which don't have the SYNC feature natively?

I often find a setup with two CDJ-2000 in bars, and I like to use them as external controller with the Traktor Advanced HID feature (connecting the CDJs directly via USB, without Audio Interface). In Traktor I can use the MASTER and SYNC software feature also with the CDJ-2000, although the players don't have BEAT SYNC natively.

Switching to rekordbox dj, for me, would require that BEAT SYNC works also for CDJs without native BEAT SYNC feature.

When using rekordbox DJ, you can use the CDJs in HID mode and while there's no button on the players themselves to engage the sync mode, you can indeed use sync - either via click or keyboard shortcut (or another MIDI device configured for those additional controls).

Sound good! I wasn't sure because I found this overview (https://rekordbox.com/download/func/func_multiplayer_equiv_en.html) where SYNC isn't checked for the players without native BEAT SYNC feature like the CDJ-2000. So the overview says only that SYNC isn't available from the player, but can obviously be triggered via rekordbox dj software.

Just to be clear - that's in PERFORMANCE mode where the CDJs are controlling rekordbox, not EXPORT mode where the players are linked to rekordbox (which acts as the music source).

Yes, the hardware itself has no function for it but the software is still capable of engaging the sync between decks.
