[SOLVED] XDJ R1 doesn't play data-cds

I'am using data cd's (burned with iTunes) and never had problems with this discs using CDJs.

Unfortunately the XDJ-R1 has problems with this discs and is not able to play tracks purchased with iTunes (it doesn't even show the tracks).

Is that a problem with the file type or with the DRM? Will it be solved?

Frank L

iTunes does not have DRM anymore. I will try with one of mine later...

yes, you're right with the drm. it seems that the xdj r1 is not able to play aac-files (m4a) burned on cd.

at the english product-homepage they say:

"DJ play can be performed using a diverse range of media and music formats, including music CDs and file formats such as MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF stored inside USB storage devices or recorded onto CD-R/RW. "

but at the german homepage they say:

"DJs können Tracks einfach von USB oder CD laden und eine Vielzahl von Medienformaten abspielen – einschließlich AAC (nur USB), MP3, WAV, AIFF und 24-Bit-Dateien."

all cdj are able to play aac-files from cd's. so will be there an update for the xdj r1?

Gavin

From the manual:

If you do wish to use .M4A files you should as CD-Audio rather than data CDs. No firmware update will be able to change that.
