DDJ 1000 master tempo issues track skipping

The unit is working fine. However there is one issue I have noticed when the master tempo button is on. Whilst the master tempo is on and the track is playing, selecting another track causes the track playing to skip. If I try this again whilst master tempo is off there is no skipping it works fine.
I tend to use the master tempo alot whilst mixing. It is very frustrating as the controller is a great price of kit.
Is there any solution to stop this happening? Or has anyone else had a similar problem? I am up to date with rekordbox software and firmware for the ddj 1000. Everything else is working fine.
