Moving tracks from itunes to a new location

Hello,

I'd appreciate it if anyone can offer advice on the below:

I've been using rekordbox for a few years, simply dragging tracks in from itunes. because I don't really trust itunes and I'd like to make things neater, I now want rekordbox to read all the tracks from one separate folder, rather than reading them from their respective locations in the itunes directory.

I got all the tracks out into a separate folder by doing a library backup to a new location. but is there a way of getting rekordbox to now read from this new location, instead of from itunes? 

all I can think to do is delete the contents of itunes, then, when rekordbox can't find the files, 'relocate' them in the new folder -- but I don't want to delete itunes, as I use it for other stuff.
