CDJ-100 MK3 sync

Hello everyone!

Not sure if this is the correct place to do this,

I am going to jump back on CDJ-1000 mk3 again to see how rusty I am without a sync button, I did previously have the brilliant SX2 which of course has a sync button and I actually enjoyed mixing and being able to use effects etc without the added stress to keep the tracks playing well together! However, I decided to jump back as I also want to use CDJ's again and can't afford the lovely Nexus!

Someone said that you can't use a laptop with the CDJ 1000's is this true? Does this mean when I do see how rusty I am doing it all over again I can't hit a "sync" like button or a BPM lock etc? Bad way of me explaining I know.

Are you able to use the CDJ-1000 MK3 with Serato?

Go easy on me! Thanks guys

You could certainly use a CDJ-1000MK3 with any DJ software that supports DVS timecode input; you would just run the timecode from a CD into the hardware (either an interface box, controller, or mixer) and the software would pick up that signal. Within the software you could then sync.
