Waveforms not loading correctly through pro dj link
I recently moved my itunes library and rekordbox library both to a usb disk in order to be able to use it on different computers (mac) when one fails.
All was going well, until i tried the pro dj link in a club with cdj 2000's. Tracks were loading, cuepoints too, but waveforms were not showing up on the cdj's. I then luckely was able to switch to rekordbox dj for my performance, but want to use the pro dj link. At home I'm now testing with my XDJ-RX, and here i have the same issue. When I look at my settings the database is pointing to the USB disk, so that should be ok I think ? In rekordbox waveforms are displaying correctly.
Tried different mac's, different turntables (cdj's and xdj's), different network cables,... problem persists.
rekordbox version 4.2.5
any idea? I have another gig tomorrow and am a bit worried :)
thanks upfront.

@Peter > You say "I recently moved my itunes library and rekordbox library both to a usb disk" ... how did you move them? What were the steps you took when you did that move? Chances are you missed one little step and there's a reference within one of the settings or database files that's pointing to the wrong location.
Hi Pulse,
iTunes :
Move all files from the itunes folder to the usb drive. When opening itunes select the new path for the itunes library.
Rekordbox :
Preferences > Advanced > Database > Database management > Move database
Then open it up, change itunes folder to the new path in the preferences, and relocate all music files to the new path.
thanks upfront for your support.
Okay, it does sound like you've taken the right steps.
Was your firewall disabled while trying the link to rekordbox?
Firewall is disabled on both mac's I tried with... :(
I tried also replacing switch and network cables. Issue still remains everything works in rekordbox and on cdj/xdj except the tracks are not analyses when loading to cdj/xdj through pro dj link. And in rekordbox all is fine...
Not sure where to look for other settings?
Thank you again for your time
Can you open your external drive and find the hidden PIONEER folder, then within, open the Master folder and see if the USBANLZ folder exists and if it has any contents?
it is under :
.PIONEER/Master/PIONEER/USBANLZ
there it is full of subfolders and DAT & EXT files...
Right after I posted that, I realized you said it was showing fine within rekordbox, so that's not the issue.
Typically, the reason the waveform isn't displayed on the link device is the firewall blocking one of the network services needed, but if you've got it disabled, that shouldn't be the issue. You're not using any 3rd party security software or firewall are you?
Which operating system are you running?
Some other news : when I move the database back to the local disk, it works again !
It seems to be a problem when the rekordbox database is on the external disk...
Having the database on an external drive and linking to a player does work (I know because I have my database externally!), I'm just wondering about the file locations themselves as being the issue.
What is the name of the external drive and how is it connected to the computer?
Update : when I move it back again on the USB it works too... must have been something wrong with the previous move...
thanks anyway for your help ! I hope it will keep on working now :)
Awesome! Glad to hear about that. :)
Just in time, I got to leave in 1 hour for my gig ;)
take care !
