HELP!!! Rekordbox lost Database - Can't upgrade to latest version!

So I have been on version 2.2.4 for a very long time as when I try to update to latest version I get an error stating my rekordbox database can no be found or loaded.

Each time I have to go to restore on Time Machine as I don't know what to do.

I now have a day free so would really like to sort this.

I have just tried again and got the same problem. When this happens my older version doesn't work either.

Please help!

The database files are located in /User/[username]/Library/Pioneer/rekordbox

Recover them and try to update.

Hello mate, how do you mean recover? (sorry)

Is it the datafile.edb file or datafile.backup.edb?

The Henrik Maneuver

Go into Time Machine, find the folder, copy it to the computer in the same location. Better grab the whole folder than individual files.

I get this error..

Unable to open the database file and any file(s) backed up automatically.

The Database is initialised.

You alternatively may be able to restore the database you manually backed up if any.

The new version then opens without any of my database. How do I then load my database?

ITS OK, PANIC OVER!! I MANAGED TO DO IT!!

Thanks for you help.

@Yassine > Per above, go into the folder containing the database and see if you have any backup files present. Follow this:

Find your database in the following location:

Win 7/8/10: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox
OSX: /Users/yourusername/Library/Pioneer/rekordbox

Rename datafile.edb to datafile.edb.old
Rename datafile.backup.edb to datafile.edb (removing .backup)

Restart rekordbox and see if it opens. If it does, the main database was corrupted and the backup was working okay.
