Restore Rekordbox Library from exported USB?

Hiya.

I recently had a massive 'cat and vase of flowers and water' induced computer failure and am now getting things back together with a new machine. Different spec and OS. Luckily the SSD drive was OK so I can access and move my files.

I have all my playlists and music on a USB. Is there any way to load these into Rekordbox so I can see and edit the playlists on my computer.

Failing that, is the Rekordbox library located in a single file so I can load that? I don't have too many folders and so would rather relocate the files than have to set all my cue points and bpms again

Thanks

To clarify, do you have access to the rekordbox folder (database) from the old computer? If so, browse to:

Win 7/8/10: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox
OSX: /Users/yourusername/Library/Pioneer/rekordbox

Adjusting for the location of your OLD drive, then copy that entire rekordbox folder into the location exactly as above. Next time you open rekordbox, provided the user name is the same as it was previously, no other changes are needed and you could simply open the database (as the music is external and in the same location).

If the user name is different, a change will be needed - if that's the case, let me know and I can provide instructions.

Thanks for the response. I do have access to the database. The username is different on this new computer so please can I have those instructions.

Hiya!! Just wondering if I could have those instructions for a different username? Thanks

You need to perform a find-and-replace on the database, so it's important that you know the EXACT username for the user on your new computer.

You need to first find this file:

Windows: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox\rekordbox3.settings
Mac: /Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Pioneer/rekordbox/rekordbox3.settings

Next, open it in a text editor and use the find feature to locate the following lines:

<VALUE name="pioneerDirectory"
<VALUE name="masterDbDirectory"

For each line, change them to reflect the username of the new account.

Let me know if that works or if you need further assistance.

I've just checked my Time Machine backup and cannot find the pioneer rekordbox folder in the library path described.

I still have my entire rekordbox collection backed up on a USB stick. Can I restore it from there?

Thanks
