Rekordbox ver. 5 compatibility with new Apple M1 chip
Hello,
maybe I'm asking too early, but is there a chance that Rekordbox version 5 will be compatible with the new macs with the Apple M1 chip?

Hey Jakub,
There are no planned updates for rekordbox 5. If Big Sur breaks it, we will not be fixing it, but rather recommending users stay on Catalina or older.
As for rekordbox 6 working with Apple's new hardware, I know there will be a transition period - whether that means the Rosetta translation works or if a rewrite of the software is required, we'll eventually get to a point where rekordbox 6 functions properly on the M1 chips.
Rekordbox 5 and 6 run fine on ARM Apple laptops, however all hardware that requires a driver to operate will need updated drivers to work under Big Sur.
Remember that an Apple laptop on ARM is something different than a Windows computer on AMD, it's a different operating system.
I advice any professional artist, regardless of the software that is used, to stay preferably on MacOS Mojave and MacOS Catalina at highest.

Any news on M1 support? The Rosetta emulation works fine on my Macbook Air and track analyzing works mindblowingly fast compared to my "old" Intel Macbook Pro 2020 but it still crashes at some point and uses too much RAM. Maybe you could update the app icon for Big Sur too, the iOS icon looks so nice.
rekordbox 5.8.6 is Big Sur compatible, and will run on the M1, however it will NOT be receiving any further updates for native M1 support.
