USB & Link
At the minute I use Pro DJ Link with my DJM 900nxs2 via LAN cables and LAN hub.
Am I right in saying all I need to use now is just a USB cable from DJM to Mac
and that's it - no need for my LAN cables and hub?

No, you would still need to link all of the players and the mixer together with LAN cables. But the mixer can now connect to the computer via USB since some computers no longer have LAN ports.
Please refer to the rekordbox connection guide here.
Ahh, I see, thanks.
Mark, I cannot find anywhere that tells me how I can change my hot cue colours
for my NXS2 or in rekordbox.
Any idea?
On the CDJ, it is in the Utility menu settings. Scroll to HOT CUE COLOR and set it to ON.
In rekordbox, simply right-click on the hot cue button to change the color.
I've tried that.
Reading the manual is says this is only done when HOT CUE COLOUR is set to OFF in CDJ UTILITY.
When this is set to OFF, the Hot Cues are all lit Green.
When set to ON, they light up multi-coloured but there's nowhere on the CDJ or in rekordbox to change each hot cue to a specific colour.
Promotional videos and information on Pioneer DJ's website suggests this.
I'm confused :\
As previously stated, in rekordbox, you can right-click on the hot cue button to manually select the color.
Got it, cool!
I wouldn't have known this, nowhere in the manual does it says to right-click the hot cue.
Would be cool if we could make custom presets and choose that in the dropdown menu of rekordbox (CDJ, COLD1, COLD2, COLORFUL, CUSTOM).
Maybe an idea for future rekordbox update ;)
Hi @Mark, apologies if this is a piggy-back question but is this LAN/USB connection exclusive with the DJM-NXS2 + CDJ-NXS2 or can it also be utilized with the DJM-NXS2 and XDJ-1000?
@lostnthesound > Yes, it is exclusive to the NXS2 system.
Quick question @Mark, do I need to buy recordbox dj to do this?
I connected my djm-900nxs2 with a usb cable, but I don't see the link option on rekordbox. The CDJs are all connected with a switching hub as described on the picture.
I'm lost.. I just want to use my mac as a source of songs for the CDJs 2000 NXS2
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Xio > No, you do not need to buy rekordbox dj to use the LINK feature. Check out this article for tips on linking. Let me know if you need more help.
Thanks @Mark
Do you know when the USB (Link) Drivers will be available for the CDJs on Mac?
