as the release notes say:
@Brichi - Have you been able to try the new version? Also, did you re-analyse all your tracks?
not yet, Tonight when i get home I definitely will, Looking forward to the Synchronization feature
Really would like to a have a more in-depth explanation about that so nothing goes wrong so to speak...
Are you on top of it?
oh i am, lol.
Im just did a test with adding a new test playlist . Selected it in the "auto sync " and i transferred it to my 64gb SD :)
Seems to work fine :)
What does sync mean? That whatever you do on the cdj is transferred to rekordbox? Because i don't want that since i make loops shorter in a set and i want the rekordbox settings to stay the way they are in some cases. That is, some loops or cue points made with the cdj's are good, but i definitely don't want to keep all these changes!
The first impression:
The sync feature is only an automatic export of files in the selected playlists. I do not see a 2-way sync between RB and SD/USB.
On the CDJ created cues and loops will only be saved back to RB via the old "Update collection" feature.
On devices: SORT by... ????
comment fail. sorry.
I honestly don't understand what the updates are...???
Chris, you said "On the CDJ created cues and loops will only be saved back to RB via the old "Update collection" feature." Also here, the problem is rekordbox should let the changed cues and loops blink (or something like that) so that you can see the changes before it saves these changes. I find it too risky to do an automatic save via update collection since what you do on the fly with the cdj's will not always be perfect. You will make some great loops and cues, but it would be sad that good loops or cues will be overwritten. Therefore there should be the option to update the e.g. 4 good new cues you made in a song and discard the 5 bad loops so that nothing gets overwritten without you giving consent for it.
Does the "ADD KEY" option to ID3 tags mean that RB will now let MIK stay in the KEY column if we want, and it will also show up on the cdj under "key"?? I'm away on a business trip and wont be able to try this out... :( if someone can answer for me that would be awesome... If that is what it is? Then that is ONE thing I have been waiting for... If not?? Then... :( Still waiting on them to make RB be able to be controlled from the CDJ's like HID mode...
@DJ Pete:
the Key tag will be read correctly from the "Initial Key". I tested with and without the option "add key". So this issue seems to be solved.
What in the world is the "beat grid importing bug"?
the Synchronize feature is great but the more I try it as I prepare the more i find it annoying as hell that it does not sync ONLY the changed file but the entire playlist it is in
I added and edited 20 tracks into 1 playlist, went to sync and its syncing 2000 tracks now based on the fact that those 20 tracks are also in other playlists that have 100-500 tracks in them so now ALL of the playlists re-sync, 2000 "syncs" later, meanwhile I only changed 20 tracks.
Great start to a feature we wanted but it needs some more polishing
Lol Typical pioneer... Untried and untested as usual!
On the plus side, we're eventually seeing progress on wht should hae been a standard feature from the outset
@cdjbasile > The sync feature was tried and tested by several beta testers over the past several weeks. Its functionality will continue to be developed from this point.
@Fox > There was slight problem, in some instances, with the beat grid being off - if you haven't noticed it, it likely doesn't affect you.
@gavin Were the issues that brichi raised regarding playlist syncing not found?
Yes and it came towards the end of the beta process so will be refined in further updates.
I think it's great. Great update so far
Were the issues that brichi raised regarding playlist syncing not found?
If they keep testing and testing to refine something then people complain it takes so long for the updates to come out, LOL. At least they got the update out to solve issues and add features, Now the added features can be fine tuned based on users feedback in my opinion
Thanks Gav - is that happening when tracks are first analyzed or when they're being translated by the players?
@Fox No, the bug was affecting tracks being imported over the XML bridge, for example, when using a program like Rekord Buddy to convert your Traktor collection over to Rekordbox.
oh i see. a while ago I tried rekordbuddy and imported a playlist from traktor using rekordbuddy and the result was terrible, I had to re-check and correct almost all the beatgrids (around 200 tracks). I thought that rekordbuddy was culprit...too quick at fingerpointing LOL, I didn't know about this bug.
jesus........ STILL crashing all the time........ unstable as hell......... isn't this an update?? :-(
@RasmusBailey > I'm assuming you are referencing the problem you mentioned in this thread: http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/24089333?challenge=omltnd27jdenxck ... where I attempted to help you and even emailed you. You never replied to either the forum thread or to my email.
If you'd like to open another thread, I would be happy to help you again. There is obviously something corrupt with your system as we've had no crashes reported with this release.
@ Gavin Good to see pioneer seem to be stiicking at rekordbox to improve it. Could you have a look at my djm 2000 soundcard issue in the mixer section when you get a minute
@Brichi True, But it has been a while!
@CDJbasile > Absolutely, I'll get to it ASAP.
@Gavin..... sorry..... i didn't see that mail...... ill stars a new thread later today. ;-)
