Relocating Music Files

Hello,

I keep all of my music files stored onto a harddrive. I have recently re named the harddrive after purchasing a backup one. ( Hardrive 1 - Harddrive 2 )

Since doing this, rekord box is asking me to re locate them, despite them being on the same harddrive in the same folders.

Is there any easy way of doing this, or do i have to re import every single track   :(

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Provided you moved everything in the same way (in other words, you moved all folders in the same "scope" -- like moving the entire Music folder from d:\Music to x:\Music), you can select all tracks, then select relocate from the menu. When you choose the location of the first song (as indicated at the top of the window), it will then ask if you want to use that location to relocate all other missing files.

Just change the hard drive name back to what it was?

Hi, I have just followed the instructions for moving Rekordbox files from one MacBook to another using an external hardrive, but I am unable to access the files. They appear in the collection, but when I click on any one of them, an orange exclamation mark appears, and a pop up box appears suggesting I relocate the files from somewhere else. any suggestions please?

@Nick > If you used the external drive to "two-step" from the old computer to the new computer, the files wouldn't need to be relocated provided the original source location and the new destination were identical. If you had a different username or put them into a different folder, then you'd need to relocate them.

Follow the instructions here for a mass-relocation.
