MIC1 and MIC2 inputs for TRS balanced devices

Hi! Is a good idea to plug a device (not a mic, some other sound device) to MIC1 and MIC2 with a TRS balanced cable?

Example: Roland HDP-20 has TRS balanced output. Is a good idea to plug these outputs to XDJ-RX2 TRS balanced inputs (MIC1 and MIC2)? I think the proper way is to use XDJ-RX2 unbalanced AUX input, but I have the doubt.

Thanks!

No - that mic input goes through a microphone amplifier, which is not designed to receive line-level signals. You'll wind up with distorted audio and poor quality signal. Your best option is to use a TRS to RCA cable and connect it to the AUX input.

What? Why? You're spending $100 for a box that does nothing more than you can achieve by using a simple $10 TRS-to-RCA cable for the AUX inputs.

A balanced connection is only a concern when you're running long distances between devices so as to avoid outside interference from the cable acting as an antennae.

Yes, you're right. Thank you!
