Rekordbox 5.6.0 - high CPU - process "windowserver"
I use a macbook pro, late 2013 and mojave 10.14.3.
To dj I use a ddj RR and Rekordbox 5.6.0.
I recognised that Rekordbox uses a lot of CPU usage. Sometimes it's about 150%. At the same time there is always the process "windowserver" in the acitivity monitor.
My Macbook is also getting very fast warm, so that the fan runs on 6200 rpm.
I scanned the Macbook with Etrecheck. Has anybody an idea?
I think RB should run without any problems on my macbook?

For starters, WindowServer is the process that "draws" stuff to your screen. As your computer is a 6 year old dual-core i5 with the default Intel Iris graphics adapter, it's not exactly what I'd consider a "powerhouse" computer. That said, as it's trying to keep up with the high draw rate of rekordbox, it's having to work hard. If you want to try and reduce the workload, open the preferences and change the waveform drawing rate to a lower speed:
Thanks for your answer. Is it normal okay, that the waveforms seem to freeze? They dont run smooth and evenly. It's hard for your eyes to watch them, especially in the horizontal wave forms.
Looking at your original post, I see several applications which are sitting in the background (eg. Adobe, Microsoft), and I see the Firefox Plugin Container is chewing up 2GB of your RAM.
Seems there's other things you might do to optimize the system first.
Who can held me deactivating the wrong apps in the background?
Just look at the list above and find things that you either know you don't need running (eg. Adobe / Microsoft), or shouldn't be running (eg. the Firefox plugin container - especially if Firefox isn't running), or things you don't recognize (Google them to find out) and either terminate them or disable them. There are plenty of instructions online, both in our own forums and in general, to optimize your computer.
