REC/CALL problem with Hot Cues

Afternoon need some advise..

I've noticed only recently when a track is playing on my CDJ2000 NXS and I press the REC/CALL button to set a hot cue the track will stop and go back to the start position. As you will all know this shouldn't happen what should happen is A , B , C should all illuminate Red and you pick a cue point is the on the track.

Sometime when the button is pressed all cues will illuminate as normal but if I change my mind and hit button again to cancel the problem happens that way - it will just stop all music and track will go back to start position.

Any ideas what problem could be it happens with both players so I'm Ruling out a hardware fault.

Thanks in advance

Sorry for the delay in responding, I stumbled across this again when cleaning up some old tickets. In case you're still looking for a solution to this, the consensus was that this is likely due to a hardware fault, not firmware. Please contact Pioneer DJ technical support in your region to have your CDJ inspected and/or serviced if you are still experiencing this issue.

If they are up to date with firmware, something in the act of hitting rec is the issue.  can you post a short video as I don't have any gear here to test.  But to make sure, you are hitting REC and instead of the 3 hot cue buttons lighting up, it is stopping play an not letting you select a cue point, right?

Wes

Exactly.

Sometimes when I press the button is like I'm pressing the " track search " button and it's just going back to the beginning other times all 3 will light up and will allow me to set a cue point..

It's really strange

If you guys could post a quick video illustrating the problem it will be very helpful for us in helping you resolve these issues.  Thanks!

This issue is very typical fro CDJ-2000 nexus, as well as pushing on master tempo button it activates tempo reset and sometimes even changes tempo range, and some units doing more, activates sync. I suspect you know about this problems.

Some units doing wrong with quantize, slip and search buttons in some cases. But this is another story.

Pulse

Thanks for getting that on video -- it will help to explain it to the product team.

I've escalated this to our engineers, if they have any questions I'll let you know.

Hello Pulse,

I am experiencing the same issue with Rec / Call button (acts same as "Track Search"). Did you get any information back from the engineers?
