Rekordbox's weird way of updating removes existing links and shortcuts to the software
Most software: I'm installed to /softwarename "I'll upgrade by overwriting files in this location"
Rekordbox: I'm installed to /softwarenameVERSION "I'll upgrade by completely uninstalling and removing all systemwide shortcuts the user has created and then install the new version to a brand new folder."
