The Start Button on the left only works sometime mostly not at all, I've updated the firmware and the software but the unit remains the same not sure what to do. Help :-(....

In that case, it could be a failed hardware switch; please contact Pioneer DJ technical support in your region to have your DDJ inspected and/or serviced.
Are you using the unit with the external power or just USB?
External Power but also i've always got my laptop plugged in too, just been messing with it again and when i hold the button down for a second or two it plays, not a good feeling tho
