Pulse

Donnie, can you please post a screenshot showing the contents of that USB drive?

tomo

Looking at the image, it seems that the UPD FILE is in the USB as shown below.
USB> XDJ-XZ_v112(FOLDER)> XDJXZ.UPD

Take out the XDJXZ.UPD FILE from the XDJ-XZ_v112 FOLDER and put it in the USB ROOT.
USB> XDJXZ.UPD

Got the same problem, file is in the root of the USB. Tries more usb's still the same problem.

Pulse

Did you unzip that file to the root, or are you placing the zip file at the root?

Boy Jonker

Hi Pulse,

yeah, i unzipped the file, got the UPD file in the root of the USB.

Serious dont know what to do... its from 1.10 to 1.12

tomo

Did you check the following?

https://forums.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/articles/360031142792-Troubleshooting-When-the-firmware-update-does-not-start

・If you want to format USB to FAT32 with MAC, you need to do it with Master Boot.

・Is the FILE name XDJXZ.UPD?
Not recognized when XDJXZ.UPD (2) or XDJXZ (2) .UPD

Boy Jonker

The file on the USB is exactly like this: XDJXZ.UPD

The USB is new, and just format it to FAT32 on a windows PC.

So everything should be okay.......

Pulse

But is it also set to MASTER BOOT RECORD? If it's not, the unit can't detect it as a "boot" drive to start the update.

Boy Jonker

Problem solved, as u said the USB was not on the MBR, now the XDJ detect the USB.

Thanks for your help!
