RECORDING FROM DJM 900 NXS - Splitting Mic & REC OUT
Hi guys,
i normally record using a Behringer soundcard using the REC OUT port from the 900Nx2 however, i want to start using the in-built soundcard on the DJM, or at least make use of it, what i am trying to achieve is this:
Using Audacity on my Macbook Pro, record as usual but have the MIC and mix (Channels) come through as a separate source so i can then master then in mix tapes i do, allowing things to be at a good level etc.
Is this something the DJM 900 Nx2 Settings utility can do? i can see you can select REC OUT or CF-A And CF-B but not sure if audacity will show these as multiple inputs or if anyone knows how to do this?
Thanks, Kieran

Hi Kieran,
You can't split the mic from the recout output, but you can send 3 channels and the mic back to the computer via the onboard soundcard. (the sound card is 4 channels stereo out / 4 channels stereo in)
go to the DJM Control panel, and on the output section select:
USB 1/2 - post channel 1 fader
USB 3/4 - post channel 2 fader
USB 5/6 - post channel 3 fader
USB 7/8 - MIC
Then go to your recording software and select the corresponding channels.
With this setting you'll be sending the 3 first channels and the mic back to the computer.
Perfect I'll give this a try!
Thanks!
