DJM-900NXS2
Why can't I record onto a USB with this mixer like with the XDJ-RX?
Or is there a way to record digitally with a computer so I'm not losing a generation?

Yes; the DJM-900NXS2 has a built-in audio interface which allows you to record through the USB connection to software. Even better than the XDJ-RX, it allows you to record multiple, discrete, channels of audio to adjust in a mix later.
Check out this recording video for a guide on recording to multiple channels with the 900NXS2.
Hi Pulse,
am I right that this tutorial works with Mac only? Couldn't get the Multi channel recording done on a Windows PC with Win 10 pro and latest Drivers.
I got a Mac mini but my main Computer is a Windows PC. So from that angle I can work around this but I am curious if I am doing something wrong or if this is a Driver Limitation on the Windows platform
Thanks.
Frank
@Frank > You couldn't get that to work on a PC because out of the box, Audacity doesn't support ASIO devices - which is needed to have multi-channel recording from the DJM-900NXS2. Your choices are to compile a version of Audacity with the ASIO support (there are instructions online), or use another application (like Ableton Live) that has it built-in already.
@Pulse.
Now when you mentioned ASIO it rang a bell to me :)
Thanks for refreshing my mind.
