[SOLVED] XDJ Aero USB Memory stick compatibility size limit?

Just was looking for a new USB memory stick for the Aero and see that they reach 256 and even 512gb memory these days.

Before I order one, is there any reason that these sticks this size are not compatible with the Aero?

Cheers

Might want to read this thread first... some have reported issues using  64GB sticks

I've got a 750G hard drive plugged in with all my rekordboxc tracks etc and it works great.

My samsung mobile even reads all the playlists etc in a flash so I can load in immediately.

Fantastic or what!

BriChi

the sticks should be compatible but if you are looking into the size then obviously you have a lot of tracks so keep in mind the Aero has a 10,000 file limit

Cool, thanks for answers... For some reason did not think of using an external HD instead of a stick, guess that would work as well!

10,000 limit.... I keep my collection dynamic and small. 5-600 songs.  I honestly could not conceive managing a collection that big  ;)  The extra space would be for other things, while traveling.  HD space never gets wasted ^^

The limitation on USB devices is as follows:

  • a maximum of 8 layers

  • a maximum of 1,000 folders

  • a maximum of 10,000 files (or 1,000 files for files not managed by rekordbox)

Make sure it's formatted fat32 or OSX.

matthew turner

it will only let me format to ex fat? is that what you mean?

BriChi

yeah, try that, the drive just cant be NTFS

or use a 3rd party program to format FAT32

EXFAT is not compatible; only FAT32 or HFS+.
