XDJ-R1 + Rekordbox DJ LOSING MIDI
Hi Guys,
I am a DJ in Hungary As a mobile DJ, I use my XDJ-R1 with Rekordbox DJ.
And usually during the night, after an hour or so, that the party started, I lose my MIDI and have to get back to USB very fast to save the mix.
After I get back to it with both sides, I reconnect my MIDI and I can use the notebook and Rekordbox DJ again.
Any idea? New cable and "power saving USB turnoff" is inactiveted on notebook.

Cable might be a good checking point to start with, also what laptop are you using?
Brand new cable. Must be software bug.
Using an HP with I3.
Try using a different USB port on your computer.
i tried different USB and still the same...freeezing
Can you please try with another computer to rule out the hardware being the problem?
Yeah, i try another computer but still is the same, also i tried new asio drivers...on virtual dj, on traktor and on rekordbox dj (with license)
audio continue to play and controlls stop also
Freezing comes always after 2 or 3 hrs after starting the party or the night.
Music continues, but I totally lose the control of the R1. No reaction at all. Gotta be fast and get the other side to USB mode and save the party with a song.
By the way, using MIDI mode, the HOT CUE lights (3 of them) does not light on the left side. Only in MIDI mode. They got the points, but no lights.
Using another computer is just impossible, getting all the music loaded into another Rekorbox.
Funny, that I got a DDJ ERGO. Tried it once and runs without freezing the whole night.
So, means that they can not resolve this and we pay 950e for what? I am so disappointed...
What more interesting is, as I was installing the DDJ- ERGO as I told, it does not appeare on the Pioneer website anymore. And I am afraid of the fact, that we can also expect the same soon with the R1.
I'm afraid of the same thing happening. I bout my R1 in September and now I'm heavily thinking of switching to something else.
Hi Adam, I had this issue intermittently for over 2 years on my R1, never did find the resolution. I even had the unit replaced which had with exactly the same problem.
I too tried another laptop with a fresh build of windows and new installation of VDJ but still had the same issue. Funnily I never had the issue when using a pair of CDJs in MIDI mode.
I final straw was at a NYE party I was djing this year with over 500 people and it happened to me 3 times the same night. With that I got so tired of the issue that I ended up selling mine and replaced it with a XDJ-RX, so far so good on the midi connection front but it certainly not flawless either.
So, anybody at Pioneer?
Any solution for this problem?
