I have the same problem when running in midi mode (with virtual dj on a Macbook pro 13.3 mid 2012). I have the problem on both decks.
I found the error, it was a pendrive connected to another USB port on my notebook. This pendrive caused problems in the notebook and the connection of R1.
On the other hand, in Argentina the voltage is 220v and also had to use a voltage stabilizer, Any variation in voltage cause the USB connection of R1 was lost.
