First Gig with DDJ SX-2
Hey Everyone!
I started DJing about a year ago, beginning with an entry level pioneer controller and just four months ago, I upgraded to the DDJ SX2 and I love it.
I've only been playing house parties and of course alone in my apartment, but I have my first gig next week and I wanted to know if any of you had experience taking this specific controller to a club and how it went for you/if you have any tips or advice for me.
I appreciate any responses! Thanks so much!

Great piece of gear, I have used one for 3 years now and love it. Make sure you bring any connector cables with you (RCA-1/4"-XLR) so that you know you can set the SX2 into whatever system the club has (Mixer-Powered Speakers-Amps). It would also be good to know the space you're working in so you'll know where your gear will be as well as your laptop. Also make sure you bring a laptop stand that will work for the gig.
I'm assuming it's a club with a DJ booth already so you'll have to work with in the existing space. Good luck and report back.
Hey djjay!
Prior to the gig, I made sure to purchase any connector cables I didn't have. Once I got to the venue, I realized I overpacked (HUGE relief!) as I only needed to plug into their XLR cables on stage and I was good to go! Had no major hiccups and even got the chance to hop into the DJ booth later on in the night after my first set on stage- same situation, just had to plug into their XLRs and I was good to go. Only issue with the booth was it was a bit tight and I wanted to keep my controller in its case since my case has a little laptop slider, so I did find that I had to overlap the slider slightly over my controller making the effects knobs a bit difficult to get to- but again, no major hiccups- the SX2 worked like a charm!
Thanks so much for the advice, and if anyone reading is unsure of whether they should use their SX2 at a gig, I think you totally should if you want to! Worked great, just make sure you have the space to set up!
Bestest,
