Rekordbox 4 key analysis accuracy

Hey guys, did you noticed that the new rekordbox 4 has (maybe?) a new key analysis algorithm or something like this? I did, because i re-analyzed the keys of some tracks and now i get a different result. So is it more accurate? Which should i trust, the new or the latest one? Ok, i should trust my ears first, but you get the point.

I haven't checked the accuracy vs. other software or my ear, in my last round of testing in 2014 I found MixedInKey was about 90% accurate (which was the best of the bunch). It may be that rekordbox updated the algorithm, but I can't say for sure as I've not re-keyed any tracks.

There's a very recent article here with a comparison of different software

http://djtechtools.com/2015/11/16/key-detection-software-comparison-2015-edition/

Indeed it seems that the new key detection of rb 4 has hugely improved over rb 3.

I've been using KeyFinder so far but now I think I'll switch to rb since it's as accurate as KeyFinder.

I just re keyed my track lists and there have been several changes in keys, so thank you for the link. I suggest to reanalyze your playlists. That improved my playlists. Just did it yesterday before reading the article ;)

Julia thank you for the link! I was still on 2014 edition... Yes there is improvement but still 70% is not as good as 90-95% (mixed in key) and i'm considering buying that software. Especially for acapella's i think it will help a lot more.

I love Rekordbox DJ and many of its features, but I will say I prefer Mixed In Key for key analysis. Maybe RB will become better over time. Right now, both Serato and Rekordbox are rated in the 70-75% accuracy bracket, where MIK is 90 or so (I think it was 92%)... at any rate, I've found MIK to be amazing... I'm also a HUGE fan of Platinum Notes (by the same company).

Yup, Rekordbox has been improved from about 50% to 70%, but it's still not enough for me. Maybe next version will be better, or pioneer buy Mixed in Key... :)

I got my self a copy and it seems like it's worth it.

Mixvibes / Cross DJ is better with KEY Detection at the moment. I checked almost every software and so far MIXED IN KEY & CROSS DJ are the way better than REKORDBOX 4....

<EDIT> While we appreciate that you have developed your own software, this is not the place to advertise it. Any further warnings will result in a banning. </EDIT>
